PDP Can’t Win Election without Us - Uba

Dr. Andy Uba, the gubernatorial candidate of the Labour Party in last Saturday’s gubernatorial election in Anambra state has attributed the inability of PDP to win last Saturday’s election in Anambra to the absence of key people in the state.

Signifying readiness to work with Gov. Peter Obi in the task of developing the State. He said this yesterday when he paid a congratulatory visit to Governor Obi at the Governor’s lodge yesterday.

Uba who addressed party supporters in Awka also said that even though the process of the election was flawed, he would not contest the result in court.

According to Uba, who fielded question from journalists, PDP has realized that it can not win election without key personalities in the state, and that people is what makes up a party, and that the people in Labour party are capable of making the party.

He urged members of his campaign team to stick together as they would always be hope for them someday, saying that he would never rest on his oars until the journey is over.

Uba  told his members to keep faith, saying that he is not ready to destabilize the peace in the state by going to court over the outcome of the election. He rather choose to be a good statesman by accepting the result in good fate.

He said that INEC gave the wrong impression that the election was going to be free and fair, but latter returned to its old ways by simply rigging to election to favour the incumbent governor. He described the election as a simple but sophisticated rigging method.

He commended members of his campaign team for all the job they did, saying that they came into the race just three weeks to the election and were able to face squarely other parties that have been campaigning over the years.

Uba latter paid a congratulatory visit to Governor Peter Obi at the governor’s lodge at Amawbia, where he signified readiness to work with him in the task of developing the State.

Speculations it would be recalled had been rife that Uba was merely in the race to ensure that Neither the PDP nor Prof Soludo gained access to the Anambra government house.

Only the most politically naive will believe that the results that annouced victory for Obi, can be confirmed by stringent audit ; in reality , Soludo lost to an intricate web of conspiracy at the highest level in his own party, woven around crass envy, personal differences and a morbid fear of his potential to turn things around for Anambra and the Igbos very fast......but most importantly his potential as a future presidential candidate in 2015.Peter Obi was just a compromise benefactor...the real position is.most apprpriately captured in this newspaper report...http://www.compassnews.net/Ng/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=40641:soludo-accepts-defeat&catid=672:top-stories&Itemid=794

I send my bravo to Dr. Andy Uba, for accepting the out come of the Anambra Governorship Election, even when most of us know that the Election was not properly conducted. For Dr Uba to have towed the part of peace for the sake of the state, and the Igbo’s’ who has been ridiculed before the rest of Nigerians, peace will abide with him and his family. And as he said to his supporters, there is always another day. Certainly, in the next 4years, by the special grace of God, he will be the next Governor or even something higher. Once again I say bravo. May I use this opportunity to congratulate the Governor for his well deserved victory? More grease to your elbow. Yet I want him to reconcile with Chief Okorie and others, for the interest of peace and to move APGA forward.

Thanks.
Ozobest.
